About Bayco

Bayco’s Meat Processing is owned by Jerry Don and Margie Barton, and has been family owned and operated since 1978 (it has been a meat plant since 1942).

Bayco has approxiamately +4,000  square feet of property just off the courthouse square in Seymour.  The building was built in 1890, and was originally a Coca Cola company bottling plant.  It now contains a 600 sq. ft. freezer, a 400 sq. ft cooler, 2 additional walk-in coolers (one dedicated to wild game storage).  It also has a slaughter floor, a smokehouse, a cattle pen capable of holding 20 head, 1,000 plus sq. ft of storage space, as well as the 600 sq. ft  front office and processing facility.

Bayco’s processes approximately 600 domestic animals (beef, hogs, and goats), and 1200 wild game animals (deer, wild hogs, elk, etc.) per year.  The sausage, steaks, and other meat items from these animals, add up to around 400,000 lbs of meat processed by Baycos annually.

Bayco is inspected by the Texas Department of State Health Services, and is also a member of the Texas Meat Packers Association.
